Jacobs specs those bikes with the same DT Swiss 350 hubsets from the same production lots if possible for an easy “hot swapping” of the wheels. That means no brake caliper adjustments when switching between 700c wheels with 30mm smooth road tires and 650b with 47mm gravel tires.

Bosch’s REAXX and SawStop were neck and neck with near perfect cleanup at the collection point and only a slight amount of dust coming out toward the user. What did make it out was even less coarse than the other Pro level saws. Both saws have narrower throat openings for the blade that reduce the amount and size of material that can make it out. In the end, SawStop produced less top dust than Bosch did to earn the win.

The Milwaukee cordless table saw packs a big punch along with a solid feature set to expand the M18 Fuel line. In my opinion, it overtakes DeWalt for the lead in a very small group of cordless table saws. The question is whether it can act as a primary job site table saw or if it’s just a supplementary tool.

For the felling grip (cutting horizontally), the DeWalt, Echo, and EGO saws rate Very Good and the Greenworks Digi Pro, Greenworks Pro, Kobalt, and Oregon rate Good.

If height adjustments were standardized, we could expect each saw to make them nearly identically. Taking a look under the hood, we discovered several different methods—each with their own effect. Most of the saws employ a bevel gear system that provides smooth and reliable performance. We noticed that many used solid metal gearing, but Bosch used plastic for both the 4100 and the REAXX.

Jacobs prefers a frame bag to keep the heavy items low and centered, a preference of modern bike packers anyway.  Long haul tourists will likely look for a longer bike specific for the task.

The saws tested are similar in form and share all of the same basic operational features, but where they differ in form is primarily in their switches and triggers. All of the saws have a UL or similar test lab certification on them, but they seem to be tested to different variations of the acceptable safety trigger standard. The current UL standard requires an electric chainsaw to have a trigger with “two separate and dissimilar actions required” to start the chain moving.

Most guitarists will already be familiar with this one. It’s perhaps the most obvious solution, and it has been with us the longest. A handful of inventive makers started putting master volume controls on their amps as early as the late ’60s, but this simple knob really came into its own with the Mesa/Boogie Mark I amps of the early ’70s, and then the Marshall Master Model amps—the 2203 and 2204 heads—of the mid-’70s. Soon, it was difficult to find a serious guitar amp that didn’t have a master volume there at the end of the control panel.

Proper public transport should have been address and developed years ago. As usual government “reacts” to every problem instead of being proactive and then throws Band-Aids at the gushing wounds of a problem.

The T3PA pedal set is a real step up from the two-pedal board you get with the T150. Sadly, it’s still made mainly from plastic, but it feels sturdy enough. The big upgrade is the conical brake mod that’s supplied in the box for optional installation. Screwing this in gives a more realistic, progressive feel to the brake pedal.
