For years I dealt with the drawbacks of leaf springs on my other flatfenders. I was regularly bending and breaking leaf springs. Axlewrap was also a real issue, to the tune of having destroyed several driveshafts, yokes, and a transmission case. On the GPW, I wanted to eliminate these problems. Adapting the Land Rover radius arms and Fox (ridefox.com) coilover shocks eliminated the problems I had with the leaf springs, but it’s a comparatively complicated suspension design that requires a bit more thinking and fabrication. It’s much easier to hang a set of leaf springs. Not having any axlewrap has been the biggest advantage of my suspension selection, although it does ride very smooth. I’ve since increased the spring rates slightly. I started with 200 in-lb springs all around, but they did not support the weight and ride height I wanted to maintain without excessive coilover preload. I later switched to 200 over 275 coils up front and 200 over 250 coils in the rear. I run about 1 inch of preload.

You can see that the SawStop made toast out of this Freud Diablo 40 tooth blade. You must replace it along with the spent SawStop brake mechanism.

I have been a Conductor for going on 16 years now, and I want to voice my concerns regarding rail safety across our state. Union Pacific has unfortunately started to adopt a failed policy known as “Precision scheduled Railroading.” This philosophy pioneered by the late E. Hunter Harrison has been proven to be a longterm failure. While it has provided short term gains for shareholders, it erodes both commerce and safety long term. We need to look no further than to CSX the most recent victim to this philosophy. My main concern is and always will be my safety and the safety of our membership and the citizenry of Arkansas. We have seen crossing accidents, derailments, breakdowns, and blocked crossing skyrocket when railroads such as CSX have attempted to make these changes. Current CSX CEO James Foote has been forced to begin an apology tour for the delays and congestion; commerce and public transportation have experienced; due to these decisions. One of the main principles of this philosophy; and my main concern; is to lengthen trains. We already have trains reaching as long as one and a half miles or around 8,000 feet long. When trains grow beyond this length public safety and interruptions to commerce become a significant concern. CSX experienced a rise in delays, derailments, crossing accidents, and blocked crossings due to this implementation. Union Pacific has followed suit, and we are beginning to see trains grow from 8,000 feet up to 12,000 feet. I’m concerned both for my safety and for the safety of the communities we travel through. Below I have included a few examples as to why this will affect our entire state.

George Town needs a real bus terminal, not a new cruise port terminal and real public buses, not some cobbled together left over parking lot and wannabe Mad Max minibus drivers. I recon for $300M we can have one of the best public transport systems in the Caribbean. Institute a card system, where prepaid cards can be purchased at all grocery stores, gas stations and other popular locations. All bus drivers must pass a yearly written and practical exam and ban for good any drivers that are found to be negligent in their duties, break road rules and disregard safety of their passengers.

Majority of the demographic who buys pickups uses it as daily and family vehicle. The "work" truck aspects of it is just for show and the "offroad" uses it will see will be over the lawn and curb of the mall. People who truly uses a pickup for what it is buy 3/ton+ and those that really do offroad mods their vehicles beyond civilized city driving comfort.
