Every day your operators know to keep the bend angles and dimensions within the tolerances found in the title block on the print. But have you ever considered that the material you’re working with also has tolerances? And they involve more than just thickness variation.

If you did your home work you had better get in more study as you do not even have a clue where they are built less how they are built.

DeWalt earns a few safety points for the Guard Detect system. It’s not inherently safer due to mechanics, but because it forces you to acknowledge you’re working without the guard and pawls in place for each cut. Hopefully, this is a last minute reminder to be extra careful making your cuts.

The pads performed well in dry weather, although they changed their tune as soon as rain began to fall from the sky in the winter months. Braking power suffered slightly in wet conditions, more so than other all-weather pads that I have used in the past. But after three months of heavy use, and many encounters with mud and rain, the pads have worn only slightly.

Next in line is the surprising Greenworks Digi Pro. Though the smallest, lightest, and least expensive saw in the test, it proved a decent performer. Not on par with the upper half of the tools tested, it performed well enough to be considered the bargain choice of the category.

The dual-clutch ’box allowed for a switch to a smaller transmission heat exchanger, which is good because the front end is positively stuffed with radiators; in fact, the GT500 has double the open area of the GT350 to ensure they all get air. The first, cleanest air goes to the supercharger, with the main radiator being mounted behind that and the transmission cooler below; an oil cooler and an auxiliary radiator can be found tucked into the outboard intakes.

The only real issue is that the hose does have a tendency to come out of the water and bucket as you work around the car. While it’s not overly stiff, it’s stiff enough to flop out at when you’re working at longer lengths. You’ll want to use the included hose clip to keep it in the bucket. The downside if you don’t is that you suck air into the line and have to wait for the motor to clear it before you get pressure back.

Good question, not sure. On one hand it’s not technically a direct replacement since this is 12s only, yet on the other hand this has more goodies.

I do not which is the best table saw, but I can tell you which is the worst. The rigid portable saw is a piece of garbage. I have purchased two in the last 4 years and the motor has failed in both, only to find that they do not sell a replacement motor. The Rigid customer service will not respond to any questions associated with the saw or replacement parts. I will not buy another Rigid tool and currently planning to try the Bosch table saw.

The DeWalt DWE7499GD table saw earns a third place finish in the safety category thanks to their GuardDetect technology. This doesn’t prevent you from using the saw without the pawls and blade guard in place, but it does require you to physically indicate you are aware they’re not in place. Ideally, this gives your mind one last opportunity to consciously note the additional care that needs to take place before cutting.

It’s been 50 years or so since the GT350 and GT500 shared a showroom floor during a period many consider the golden age of the Mustang. But there’s an argument to be made that Mustang fans have never had it better than today, with a base model that makes more than 300 horsepower, a 460-hp GT, the 480-hp Bullitt, the 526-hp GT350, and this new 700-plus-hp GT500 all on offer. Heck, muscle-car fans in general have it pretty good now, considering that 700- and 800-hp Dodges and broad, rewarding Camaro lineup are also roaming American streets. But for Blue Oval devotees, there’s nothing like a Shelby, and there’s never been a Shelby like the new GT500.
