Ridgid’s fence is outstanding for its design. Its large front plate helps stabilize it and the whole thing just feels solid. There’s very little play compared to some of the others and we were consistently able to lock it down perfectly square. We like the pinion style bevel adjustment. It’s not quite a good as a separate adjustment wheel, but a great improvement over simple sliding. We also like the independent locks for both height and bevel. It’s not often that a height lock would be required, but there’s an element of confidence that comes from knowing it won’t be going anywhere.

The added weight, 250 additional grams up high from the seatpost is noticeable when you carry the bike and when you throw the bike around chicanes. The dropper post is certainly fun to have, especially handily paired to the left shift lever, and it makes the bike more capable.

What you did is fine. If you did it and then put the car on the side of the road to resell it – basically running a used car import & resale business without the T&B Licence, etc. – then its a problem. (But as someone else said, not a Customs/Roads/Car problem.)

As for service just depends on the dealer. GM has good dealers and bad. Much of this is because they have too many dealers vs competitors. GM tried to cut them in the bail out but the goverment put a stop to it. Now it is too expensive to buy them out.

Owners can raise and lower the engine, allowing riders to alter where the center of gravity is, changing the 1100’s handling characteristics. Also, the headstock position and rake can be adjusted, giving you another variable for tuning. Lastly, the swingarm pivot can be changed, too. This bike is a chassis tuner’s dream, giving you plenty of opportunities to perfectly suit it to any track in the world.

But for me coming from an eTAP bike as my primary bike, this felt like the relatively perfect incremental update for me from a tech standpoint. It wasn’t a drastic change. And while the terrain on our ride was hilly enough to lend itself well to the 12-speed setup and increased shifting range, I honestly didn’t notice a significant difference in terms of available gears. Perhaps if I were to have ridden an 11-speed setup on the exact same route as part of a weekly ride or something I’d have noticed it, but it’s less likely when the terrain is somewhat foreign to you.
