The Gunther Werks 400R is a modern version of Porsche’s last air-cooled 911 and is the first car from the new Gunther Works outfit based out of southern California. Limited to only 25 units and with a price point of $525,000 this is a seriously expensive and rare restomod. Every 400R will be entirely one of a kind. Customers select the vehicle interior materials, accent colors, and finishes. Gunther Werks then create an interior that bridges the gap between modern and classic design. Customers start with a 1995-1998 Porsche 993-era 911 and Gunther Werks goes nuts from there. Nearly all of the steel bodywork is thrown out; only the doors remain, and the rest is all carbon fiber panels, made in house. Gunther Werks also has a custom 4.0-liter engine. Developed by Rothsport from Oregon it is a tasty high end machine producing 400+ horsepower at 7800 rpm redline. Prices start north of $500,000.

More ingenuity is in Smith’s GT-R’s tail lights. "I used the best school bus tail light I could find," Smith chuckles. A side marker light from an RV is bonded in the middle of the tail light for a back-up lamp, and Smith vacuum-formed the red bezel to tie the parts together.

You can see that the SawStop made toast out of this Freud Diablo 40 tooth blade. You must replace it along with the spent SawStop brake mechanism.

Bar bag – small bar bags are also a great place to store snacks, gels and a mobile. These small options as less bulky than a full blown handle bar bag designed to carry a sleeping bag or parts of a tent. They usually attach either side of the stem and around the head tube and will hold between one and two litres of gear. The padding on offer and the stability of the bag will denote what kind of riding this bag can be useful for, longer rides with less technical terrain is probably more up its street.

Larger buses would be a great idea. But we need proper bus stops also and better services to certain off the beat places. That of course means punctuality.

The pricing is an absolute joke. Not so much because it is high, but because they’ve seemingly not looked at current exchange rates. It’s $650 more basically in the UK.

Bags don’t just have to be for bikepacking, there are plenty of smaller ones that are just as useful on short gravel or mountain bike rides. Contents will usually amass to tools, tube and maybe a jacket or extra layer depending on the size of the bag.

Ford is celebrating the 55th anniversary the Mustang’s debut at the 1964 World’s Fair in Queens, New York, with a new EcoBoost engine. The High-Performance Package (HPP) increases the 2.3-liter four-banger’s output to 330 horses (that’s 20 more ponies than the stock engine) and 350 pound-feet of tire-spinning torque. The package also includes brake, aerodynamic and suspension upgrades.

The DeWalt saws make up the second tier of saws. They are solid performers where it counts but not faultless. The Flexvolt model is a very fast cutter with respectable runtime while the 40 volt max saw outfitted with the 6.0 Ah battery ran slower. Still, it posted runtime numbers up with the top saws. The identical 40 volt max saw that comes with the 4.0 Ah battery was a step below its brandmates in both speed and runtime output.

To complement the saws that occupy the recommended range of our test, the Echo, EGO, and DeWalt 40 volt max systems all have pretty full lines of other battery-powered OPE. For now, however, DeWalt lacks a mower. And of course the DeWalt Flexvolt has a huge line of cordless construction tools backing it. The Flexvolt battery remains compatible with the brand’s 20 volt max line as well.

Somewhere in the middle, lies the mini-v. The stubby sibling to v-brakes, (found on mountain bikes of yore) has become a popular option for riders who are still running frames with canti posts. Mini-v’s often offer improved braking performance over cantis. But the mini-v’s tolerance for mud is notoriously low, because to work effectively the pads need to run close to the rim so that the shorter cable pull of road-style levers will still provide enough movement to contact the rim without the lever bottoming out. For this reason, the brakes are a more popular choice amongst riders who experience mostly dry conditions.

As you say, quarter 2 is normally a strong quarter. And as I said in the presentation, the North America is sold out, so I think that will be a strong market, a continued strong market in North America.
