Add to that the trend of tool companies becoming increasingly nebulous with their voltage naming conventions, and voltage numbers mean less now than ever. The tools in our test range in voltage from 40V Max – meaning 40 volts maximum charge but 36 volts nominal – to 80V Max with 72 volts nominal. They come equipped with anything from 2.0 to 5.0 amp-hour (Ah) packs.

That said, a few brands declined to participate with certain models or altogether. Even with this comprehensive of a shootout, new models are currently under development. The good news is that we were able to get two of the newest models in: the Makita 18V X2 LXT Rear-Handle Circular Saw and the DeWalt DCS570 20V Max 7-1/4-inch Circular Saw.

Some European countries regulate stated voltages more stringently, and it seems that it could only serve to help if the simple math all added up. For our purposes, we’re putting everyone on an even playing field by taking the nominal voltage and stated amp hours. It’s only a minor annoyance, however, as the more telling results are all products of our hands-on testing.

I have been waiting for yrs to trade in my 2001 Taco. 2 things I want, and if they aren’t available, it is a deal-breaker. I want a standard transmission and a 2-dr ext cab. I want the Jeep, but I won’t buy a 4-dr. My kids are grown and gone, and I use it for off-road. I don’t need the added length. The Colorado is offered in ext cab, but only offers a stick w/ a 4-cyl, which is way under-powered for a truck of this size. What to do, what to do…

The cobalt thing was more bogus than anything. Most failures were overloaded rings. Most of the cases were tossed many were settled as it was cheaper than fighting.

The pads performed well in dry weather, although they changed their tune as soon as rain began to fall from the sky in the winter months. Braking power suffered slightly in wet conditions, more so than other all-weather pads that I have used in the past. But after three months of heavy use, and many encounters with mud and rain, the pads have worn only slightly.

Paul Stephens is considered THE Porsche guy in the UK. Recently, Paul Stephens shared his latest creation, the new special edition Le Mans Classic Clubsport. This $350,000 special-edition gives you a 300 horsepower 3.4 flat-six (courtesy of an advanced injection system, a reprogrammed ECU, GT3 RS-specification camshafts, a lightened and balanced crankshaft and lightweight conrods) connected to a G50 manual gearbox with lightweight flywheel and a limited-slip differential. 0 – 60 mph is over in 4.4 seconds and the Classic has a top speed 170mph. You also get a de-seamed roof panel, an aluminum bonnet, composite bumpers and engine cover, a ducktail and aerodynamically optimized mirrors. All this totals to a weight figure of 2138 lbs as long as you choose the Lightweight spec (instead of Touring).

The brakes offered a substantial amount of power, and the bite was achieved at a steady ramp-up. I rarely found myself unintentionally locking up the rear wheel, even under last-second braking to set up for a corner. This is not to say that the brakes couldn’t be locked up if necessary, they just don’t have the on-or-off intensity of some hydraulic disc brakes.

I have a funny feeling Cannondale have their launch numbers wrong or are getting a cheaper stream from SRAM. Their SystemSix with eTap AXS is $2,000 cheaper than the equivalent Trek and Specialised models (models that have nearly identical ticket prices when D-A Di2 is spec’d). So whilst I don’t think insanity is ruled out by your evidence vs evidence from other bike manufacturers, I do think the Cannondale seems to be a way you could get into this groupset with only selling one kidney rather than two
