The DeWalt saws make up the second tier of saws. They are solid performers where it counts but not faultless. The Flexvolt model is a very fast cutter with respectable runtime while the 40 volt max saw outfitted with the 6.0 Ah battery ran slower. Still, it posted runtime numbers up with the top saws. The identical 40 volt max saw that comes with the 4.0 Ah battery was a step below its brandmates in both speed and runtime output.

Though this cut was made in 3/4″ plywood, Ridgid came out on top with the best cutting power in 2x PT.

The V6 is the standard engine, while the Duramax diesel with 369 lb-ft of torque is optional. The ZR2 has superior width of 90 mm and height of 50 mm to improve off-road capabilities. Below, tubular rockers and protection plates help protect the chassis.

The cool body kits is crafted by Akira Nakai in his body shop located in Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo. Not surprisingly, this handcrafted gear comes with a rather steep price tag (basic kit starts at $24,000 but it quickly climbs to almost $40,000 for the whole hog). This car started its life as a 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 4. Widened fender flares were fitted at all four corners along with front/rear bumpers, side rockers, a Kamiwaza double-decker spoiler, fender wings, Rotana-style extended canards, and RWB lettering.  This 964 is said to have been featured at SEMA in 2015/2016 and is now being offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

An engineer from a major chainsaw manufacturing company explained to me that this means a chainsaw should not be able to be triggered “on” with a single grabbing motion of the handle and trigger, rather the trigger lockout mechanism and the trigger require separate deliberate actions. I’m not sure what’s considered acceptable or not by the major listing labs out there. In use, it’s easy to determine that some of the saws in our test have actual two-step triggers while others can be easily activated with a single grasp around their lockout button and trigger. At the end of the day, we expect the best battery-powered chainsaw to have a trigger mechanism that will keep us safe in all chainsaw applications.

Question: Why is a press brake called a press brake? Why not a sheet metal bender or a metal former? Does it have to do with the old flywheel on mechanical brakes? The flywheel had a brake, like that on a car, allowing me to stop the motion of the ram before the forming of the sheet or plate began, or to slow the ram’s speed during forming. A press brake amounted to a press with a brake on it. I’ve had the privilege of spending a few years with one, and for many years I thought that was why the machine’s name is what it is, but I’m not sure that’s correct. It certainly doesn’t sound right, considering the word “brake” has been used to describe sheet metal bending long before powered machines came along. And press break can’t be correct, because nothing is broken or shattered.

Pros and DIYers alike appreciate tools with the best performance, but we know that everyone reading this shootout won’t automatically run out and buy the top-rated tool. There are different varieties of “winners” once certain realities are factored in.

Germany’s DP Motorsport is undertaking a multi-part project that aims to create the ultimate version of the 1989 911 Speedster. The car still awaits the major mechanical upgrades, but the aesthetic upgrades show that this could be an incredibly impressive creation when the job is complete. The car belongs to an owner in Berlin, Germany. He bought it in California with the conversion from a 1989 911 Targa 3.2 to a Speedster body already complete. However, this person thought that the vehicle looked “too modern,” so the vehicle went to DP Motorsport for further modification for a more retro appearance. The firm installed a body kit that took close inspiration from the F-model 911 of the early 1970s but with much wider rear fenders. The tweaks also included a lower front bumper and revised side sills for hiding the oil lines. For an understated but very attractive appearance, painted the body Nardo Gray, fitted black badges, and added black and orange graphics. The cabin has remained largely stock other than a new, Alcantara-covered steering wheel and stylish, metal shift knob.

Such a sensible comment would fall on deaf ears. In Bermuda, monthly and daily passes are sold right a the bus depot. Visitors usually buy daily passes. Public bust driver, as well as a public bus mechanic certifications must be done overseas.

Is there a difference in power between a regular battery & the High Output battery, or is it just how long they last? I was thinking of buying just the saw & using the 18V batteries that I already have. (I have 3 now)
