In the rear, a fully-adjustable TTX shock boasting 4.7 inches of travel is at play. Feel from the fork is superb, keeping the chassis in shape when braking hard into turn 1, coming down from 180 mph. The shock was getting quite the work out at Mugello, with the undulating track and wheelie bumps asking everything of it. Still, the 1100 never wallowed or became squirrely for a man of my modest talents.

The return of the impact bumpers. This mild custom 911 is a personal project that marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for architect Hugh Feggans. It’s a 1977, 3.0L Porsche 911. These are the earlier 3.0s 911s, prior to ‘76 the capacity was 2.7L. He kept the impact bumpers as it resembles the original little red 911 he fell in love with as a kid. The interior has been completely redone and the engine is the original 3.0L but has been completely rebuilt to a high performance but still reasonably driver friendly specification.

The rack’s design was inspired by French garden furniture, and is permanently welded so it can never come loose, said Sadoff. The idea of a welded rack came from a customer. “I had a request to build a commuter frame with a welded-on rack. I liked the customer’s concept enough to adopt it on my own bike,” he said.

Take time to look at the critical areas like the brake lines, and pull the caliper to look at the brake pads to make sure the corrosion has not attacked the area where the friction material attaches to the backing plate.
